Dr. John Mayfield III is a native of Hattiesburg, MS. He was employed by Animal Medical Center as a technician prior to being accepted to Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He received his bachelor of science in agriculture engineering. His area of special interest in veterinary medicine includes CT scan and interpretation. He is a member of AVMA and MVMA. He attends Temple Baptist Church. He resides in Hattiesburg with his wife, Stephanie and their daughter and son. They have two dogs.

Dr. Mayfield III received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005.
