Dr. Paul Calhoun is a native of Dermott, AR. He opened and operated Animal Care Veterinary Hospital in Hattiesburg in 1988 and merged with Animal Medical Center of Hattiesburg in 1993. He is a member of MVMA and AVMA. Dr. Calhoun is a member of Temple Baptist Church. He resides in Hattiesburg with his wife, Stephani. They have three daughters and five grandchildren.

Dr. Calhoun received his bachelor of science in agriculture and home economics from Mississippi State University. He received his doctorate in veterinary medicine from the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986.
